I believe clothing, whether it's an apron, shirt, dress, or pants, should adapt to people—not ask people to adapt to clothing.

Whether I'm designing a utility apron for a short woman woodworker, tailoring a favorite jacket for someone who uses a wheelchair, or creating a custom garment for a unique body shape, every piece begins with the same goal: deliberate design that combines comfort, function, and personal style.

Adaptive Fashion With Dignity

The Apronary Unbound is my adaptive tailoring practice — garment modifications and custom clothing for people with limited mobility or who spend much of the day seated. Hidden closures, seated-fit adjustments, and discreet access openings help people keep wearing the clothes they love, with more comfort, confidence, and independence. My approach comes from 19 years of hands-on experience with custom pant and shirt alterations for a C4 quadriplegic client — the kind of detailed, ongoing fit work I bring to everyone I work with.

The Apronary utility aprons are created for people who build, create, garden, cook, sew, throw clay, and work with their hands. Cross-back designs eliminate neck strain, adjustable construction provides a better fit, and signature CrossDraw Pockets™ keep the tools you reach for most close at hand. My focus is on the underserved body types: petites, busty, or seated in a wheelchair.

I believe the most sustainable garment is one you'll reach for again and again.

I choose natural fibers such as organic cotton, hemp, and linen whenever possible, along with responsibly produced dyes and durable construction. But sometimes there are performance fabrics that are better suited to the goals of a garment piece, be that durability, breathability, and moisture wicking. My goal is to create clothing that performs beautifully, lasts for years, and respects both the people who wear it and the world we share.
